    Medicare for All - What Does it Mean?

    Janet Trautwein, CEO NAHU

    Janet Trautwein is the Chief Executive Officer of the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) and President of the National Association of Health Underwriters Education Foundation in Washington, D.C.  NAHU represents more than 100,000 employee benefits professionals involved in the design, implementation and management of health plans all over the United States.  Her responsibilities include oversight of all NAHU and NAHU Education Foundation activities including oversight for 30 staff members in Washington, DC and 210 state and local chapters.   She is the primary spokesperson for NAHU to the media, government agencies and elected officials at all levels.  A frequent speaker on health policy issues, Janet’s expertise in issues related to health insurance markets, the uninsured, health insurance pools, risk and reinsurance pooling, health related tax issues, and both national and global health reform has been recognized throughout the industry. Janet has testified before Congress numerous times, and has been published in major newspapers, including The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and The New York Times and has appeared on hundreds of radio and television programs around the world.

    Mike Smith the President of The Brokerage, an insurance marketing organization licensed in all 50 states.  The Brokerage specializes in life, health, financial, senior insurance products and marketing services. Mike has been a member of NAHU for more than 20 years, serving as the president of the Fort Worth Chapter in 1997 and today on the NAHU Medicare Advisory Board. He has been recognized for his distinguished service to the industry in 2005 as the Donna Carnal Career Achievement Award and the TAHU Hollis Roberson Award in 2015.

    Christian Brindle, President, Christian Brindle Insurance Services 

    Christian Brindle is a published author, hosts the ever popular Everything Medicare Podcast, and made six figures in the Medicare business by the time he was 25 years old.

    Christian was raised & brought up around the insurance industry. With his dad being an insurance broker for close to 30 years, Christian had the luxury of being able to learn all about the industry from a young age.     John Dubas, Vice President of Agent Success, Premier Marketing

     

    John is a Vice President of Agent Success for Premier Marketing® and is tasked with the promotion of Medicare and Ancillary product for the organization.

    John began his Texas insurance career in 1985, offering 403b plans to staff at North Texas State (now University of North Texas). He worked primarily with Prudential for a number of years, licensed for life and health, variable, and property and casualty products, obtaining the LUTCF designation. 

    John transitioned into a captive role with PacifiCare, specializing in Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug Plans, until governmental funding changes created a career change into Medical Staffing Recruitment for a brief period. When funding was restored to Medicare Part C and D programs, John returned to PacifiCare, becoming a Certified Medicare Specialist; he was part of that company’s acquisition by UnitedHealthcare, and moved into the Broker Channel, as a Broker Manager, then Central Region Director for Evercare (then UnitedHealthcare’s SNP division), then Regional Director for the Western United States for UnitedHealthcare Medicare Part C portfolio.

    After leaving UnitedHealthcare, John served as Vice President of Sales for a National Marketing Organization based in Dallas for Medicare and Ancillary Product Sales. He also served as that organization’s Compliance Officer and Chief Trainer, and sat on the advisory council for UnitedHealthcare’s broker channel. John’s latest role enables him to work for one of the nation’s leading independent marketing organizations in the insurance industry, while serving his favored Medicare Market.

    John graduated from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln with a degree in Business Administration. He lives in Lewisville, Texas (a suburb of Dallas), and works out of the Integrity Marketing Group’s national headquarters.
